WAITING TENSES/2020
Embroidery, felt, textile collage

Waiting Tenses plays with the diaristic format and textiles to tell individual and collective stories about labor, stagnation and solitude. Trapped between the walls of the house, Waiting Tenses is an exploration of textiles, a practice that has been historically relegated to the margins, associated with women's labor, domesticity, and passivity. The embroideries, textiles collages and felt journal six months of states and thoughts as a character moves from isolation to being with others. The works deal with doubts, lack of movement, and reflect on questions about how to navigate the present moment.
